Recognizing International Project Management Day

The UI Health Care Project Management Office (PMO) celebrates International Project Management Day on Nov. 7 to encourage knowledge sharing of successful execution of projects achieving outcomes.

The International Project Management Day online conference, held on Nov. 7 this year, brings together professionals from around the world that are passionate about change, our future, and the important role of those in the project management profession.

What is project management?

Project management is the consistent application of proven best practices methodology to achieve project outcomes while maximizing long-term value and benefits realization.

How can our Project Management Office help you?

The Project Management Office (PMO) is comprised of experienced and knowledgeable certified project management professionals (PMP) who provide project management support and capabilities. The team works with project sponsors and key stakeholders to determine project needs during the initiating and planning phases of the project and throughout the entire project life cycle.

The PMO currently provides support to Health Care Information Systems, Hospital Administration, University of Iowa Physicians, Capital Management, Marketing and Communications, Finance, and the State of Iowa, Johnson County.

In addition to providing full project management support, the PMO also provides project review and recovery, and project management consultation and mentorship—continuing their efforts to build project management competencies through others to drive successful project execution across the UI Health Care enterprise
