New law prohibits gender-affirming treatment for minors

Yesterday a bill prohibiting gender-affirming treatment for minors was signed into state law. Health care professionals licensed in the state of Iowa are now prohibited from prescribing and administering puberty blockers and hormone therapies—as well as performing gender-affirming surgeries—for individuals under 18.
