University of Iowa athletic trainers: the workers who made sports possible*

Brad Floy, the head trainer for men’s basketball, worked for months to log thousands of COVID-19 tests across Iowa’s athletics department, The Gazette reports.

Hawkeyes provide vital anesthesia services in Iowa

In 1994, Geraldine Felton, EdD, FAAN, who was dean of the UI College of Nursing, and John Tinker, MD, then-chair of the UI Carver College of Medicine Department of Anesthesia, built a program that first awarded master’s degrees for nurse anesthetists. In 2010, the program began awarding the Doctor of Nursing Practice.
