UI to hold Deeded Body Program memorial service Sept. 23

The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology in the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine will hold its annual memorial service for the Deeded Body Program on Friday, Sept. 23, at Oakland Cemetery, 1000 Brown St., in Iowa City.

In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held at 2 p.m. at Park View Church, 15 Foster Road, in Iowa City.

The memorial service, which was established in 1968, honors those whose donated bodies aided in the advancement of medical education and science at the UI through studies completed during the past year.

Students who benefited from the donations will participate in the service. Noelle Andrew, associate director of spiritual services at UI Hospitals and Clinics, and John Engelhardt, professor and chair of the UI Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, also will deliver remarks.
