Top hand hygiene performers awarded for August

The hand hygiene traveling trophies are on the move again. The units and job roles recognized for August 2017 are:

  • Best performing unit: Level 9 of UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital (pediatric medical surgical)
  • Best performing job category: child life
  • Most improved unit: 7JCP (respiratory specialty and comprehensive care), with an 11 percent increase
  • Most improved job category: respiratory therapy, with a 40 percent increase

    Level 9 of UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital was named the best performing hand hygiene unit for August.

Child life was named the hand hygiene best performing job role in August.

Congratulations to the units that achieved 100 percent hand hygiene compliance rates for the week of Aug. 27 through Sept. 2 are:

  • 4JPE¬†(adult bone marrrow transplant)
  • 8JCP (burn)
  • PICU

The most improved unit hand hygiene award for August went to 7JCP.

The job roles that achieved 100 percent hand hygiene compliance rates for the week of Aug. 27 through Sept. 2 are:

  • Child life
  • Med tech
  • Nursing student
  • Respiratory therapy
  • Social work
  • Speech pathology
  • Volunteers

Respiratory therapy was the most improved hand hygiene job role in August.
