The Iowa Comprehensive Epilepsy Program has been reaccredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) as a level 4 epilepsy center. Level 4 epilepsy centers have the professional expertise and facilities to provide the highest level medical and surgical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.
The Iowa Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is the only level 4 epilepsy center in the state. The program offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment options for patients of all ages from infants to older adults, as well as patients with special needs, such as pregnant women and individuals with development disabilities.
“We are very proud to be recognized by the NAEC for the excellent and comprehensive care we provide to our patients with epilepsy and other types of seizures,” says Mark Granner, MD, UI professor of neurology. “Our multidisciplinary team strives to find the best option for every patient with a goal of maximizing quality of life through optimizing seizure control while minimizing side effects.”
