Our UI Health Care flu fighters: Recap from this year’s employee and volunteer flu vaccination campaign

We recently concluded our annual employee and volunteer flu vaccination campaign, and although we had very strong response, there’s still work to be done.

Looking to receive a COVID-19 vaccination or booster? Call the University Employee Health Clinic at 319-356-3631, option 3.

Employees and volunteers who have not yet responded to the campaign should do so in Ready Set.

If you haven’t yet been vaccinated—or if you’ve changed your mind—there’s still time to protect yourself and others. Stop by the University Employee Health Clinic to receive your free flu vaccination between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

According to the CDC, the best way to reduce your risk from seasonal flu is to get vaccinated every year. Getting vaccinated against the flu is just one way we make UI Health Care a safe place to work and to receive care. It’s important that we do all we can to keep our teams healthy and able to care for Iowans who need us.

Thank you to all who stepped up to get vaccinated and help keep our community safe and healthy.

The job’s not done

The flu vaccination campaign may be over, but our fight against the flu is not.

Even if you’ve been vaccinated against the flu, it’s still important to follow precautions to help prevent respiratory illnesses:

  • Wear a mask in crowded spaces
  • Wash your hands often
  • Cover your cough
  • Clean surfaces often
