Megan Orifici recognized with Helping Hands Award

Congratulations to Megan Orifici from the Medical/Surgical Cardiology Unit, who was awarded with this month’s Helping Hands Award.

“I have worked as a staff nurse on 4RC for over 10 years and I have not seen a nursing assistant who is so kind, cooperative, compassionate, and very helpful like Megan.

“Today I had very complicated patients and required a lot of assistance. One of my patients did not have a bath and wanted to go for a walk while my nursing assistant was on break. The patient and their family did not want to wait for the nursing assistant to return for a walk and bath, so Megan voluntarily helped me eagerly and without any hesitation. The patient and her family really appreciated her help and kindness.

“This was not her assigned work, but Megan was willing to help out the team. Megan goes above and beyond every time she is working on 4RC. She is a true role model for all of us!”

The Helping Hands Award is sponsored by the Department of Nursing Services and Patient Care. It was created to highlight the outstanding work of our support staff involved in direct patient care.
