All about Child Life: Learning Playground on March 15

Staff and visitors are invited to learn about Child Life at the Child Life Learning Playground from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, March 15, in the Gerdin Family Lobby, UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital (Level 1). Celebrating Child Life Month, come for interactive displays, giveaways, and more.

About Child Life

Check out this video of our Child Life staff, who did a wonderful job of creating a magical “Snow Ball” for our young patients last year. There was music, food, crafts, a magician, and special visitors!

Contact a Child Life specialist when:

  • A child needs assistance coping during a procedure or test
  • There are concerns regarding a child’s development
  • A child would benefit from therapeutic play activities
  • A child has been newly diagnosed with a life threatening or chronic illness
  • A child is struggling to cope with hospitalization
