Top hand hygiene performers, April 30 to May 6

There were three units that achieved 100 percent hand hygiene compliance for the week of April 30 to May 6:

  • 2RCW2 (gastrointestinal, organ transplant, and surgical specialty)
  • 6JCE/W (neurosurgery)
  • 8JCP (burn unit)

There were several job roles that achieved 100 percent hand hygiene compliance during that week:

  • Child life
  • Dietary
  • Medical assistant
  • Nursing student
  • PA/ARNP/midwife
  • Pharmacy
  • Resident
  • Volunteer

There were eight units that achieved 90 percent or greater hand hygiene adherence for the week of April 30 to May 6:

  • 3JPW (gynecology, oral surgery, and otolaryngology)
  • Level 9 of UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital (pediatric medical surgical)
  • CVICU  (cardiac intensive care)
  • 2BT (neurology)
  • 7RCS (adult bone marrow transplant)
  • SICU (surgical intensive care)
  • 7JCP (respiratory specialty and comprehensive care)
  • Level 11 of UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital (pediatric cancer center)

There were two job roles that achieved 90 percent or greater hand hygiene adherence:

  • Medical student
  • PT/OT
