To help our local food pantries meet their needs, UI Health Care is proud to participate in the 20th annual Thanksgiving in July Community-Wide Food Drive. Bring non-perishable canned or packaged food items to work during the entire month of July. Drop-off bins are located at:

  • Hospital entrances
  • Center for Disabilities and Development
  • Third level, Bowen Science Building
  • Health Care Support Services Building (HSSB)
  • Medical Education and Research Facility (MERF)
  • Eckstein Medical Research Building (EMRB) Atrium
  • Old Capitol Town Center
  • UI Health Care–Iowa River Landing
  • Westlawn

The most needed items include:

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned meat
  • Canned fruit and 100 percent fruit juice
  • Pasta and rice
  • Canned vegetables
  • Hearty soups and stews
  • Baby formula and food
  • Baby diapers
  • Laundry detergent
  • Toilet paper
  • Financial donations (see below)

Tax-deductible financial contributions may be sent directly to the food pantry of your choice:

  • CCA Community Food Pantry
  • North Liberty Community Pantry
  • Coralville Ecumenical Food Pantry
  • The Crisis Center of Johnson County

More than 19,000 people in Johnson County need help to get enough food. Demand for food assistance is even greater in the summer months, when children don’t get meals at school.
