New location for asymptomatic pre-procedural screening starting Tuesday, June 30

Starting Tuesday, all asymptomatic pre-procedural COVID-19 screening will be done at Urgent Care – Holiday Road.

Currently all COVID-19 testing is done in the Family Care Center Circle Drive. Separating symptomatic and asymptomatic tests allows us to maximize our personal protective equipment (PPE) usage and avoid traffic back-ups on Melrose Ave.

Asymptomatic pre-procedural screening will continue to take place from 7:00 to 11:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

All symptomatic and asymptomatic exposure testing will continue to be done at the Family Care Center Circle Drive.

These changes will not affect patients being seen at Urgent Care – Holiday Road. Asymptomatic pre-procedural screening is done in the parking lot and patients do not leave their vehicles.

View a map with instructions for patients.

Additional information can be found on the COVID-19 information hub.

  1. Can you please post a map and directions for us to be able to share w/pts for this new location? If pre-procedure screening is needed on Fri/Sat, will that continue to be done at the Family Care Center drive?

    • Hi Julie, a map with driving instructions has been added to this post. Patients also receive this map when they make an appointment. If pre-procedure screening is needed on Friday or Saturday that patient will be scheduled at the Family Care Center Circle Drive and receive a similar map and instructions specific to that location.

    • Hi JoAnne, a map for patients has been added to the post on The Loop. Patients also receive this map when they schedule their appointment.

      • Could the map also include some area landmarks? For example include a small map showing the Culvers/Walgreens/AmericInn intersection that would give a better idea of where they need to turn off of 965? Not all of our patients have cell phones/mobile GPS. Thanks.

  2. I am concerned about the patients who have already been instructed to go to ILI in the coming days. There are probably dozens/hundreds with maps and handouts instructing them to ILI/Family Care. We are trying to help them be comfortable about having procedures here and make the process as easy a possible and are now directing them to a remote clinic that is not as easy to find. In the future, it would be helpful to get some notice so we can help patients as much as possible to be prepared for their surgeries. Thank you.

    • Hi, patients who have already been scheduled for pre-procedure screening in the Family Care Center Circle Drive will continue to go to FCC Circle for screening. Any new appointments and appointments scheduled after July 10 are being scheduled at Urgent Care – Holiday Road.

  3. Why can’t these sample be collected at any Urgent Care Clinic? This clinic will not be easy to find and will add considerable travel time to those of us coming from the south.

    • Hi Pattie, we have to set up runners with our pathology lab, train our employees to perform these tests, others specifics that happen in the background to collect these tests and get results to patients before their scheduled procedure. Having a dedicated location makes that operation run smoother.
