Epic UserWeb – Duo multi-factor authentication

As a result of a policy change from Epic, we will be turning on Duo multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Epic UserWeb access at noon on Thursday, Sept. 17.

We will be using our existing Duo enrollments which allows us to make to this change more seamlessly and provide greater flexibility. For example, you will not need to use MFA when access UserWeb from internal UI Hospitals & Clinics networks.

If you already have a device enrolled in Duo for access to UI Hospitals & Clinics services, no action is needed on your part. You will begin getting Duo prompts when logging in to UserWeb from off campus Thursday afternoon.

Note the Duo enrollments for UI and UI Hospitals & Clinics services are separate. You can verify your enrollments by opening the Duo app on your smartphone. The UI enrollment is indicated by a white icon with black text. The UI Hospitals & Clinics enrollment is a gold icon with a white Old Capitol logo as seen in the screenshot below:

If you do not have a device enrolled in Duo, now would be a great time to do so. Info on how to do is available here.
