This is snot. Well, technically it’s mucus, which is important for maintaining healthy lungs. New research at the University of Iowa found that cystic fibrosis (CF) changes the structure of mucus produced in airway passages, which may help explain why people with CF have trouble clearing mucus from their lungs.
