Maureen is a Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator in the Division of Neurology.
I am new to the UI Healthcare system, and happy to be here.
My husband, Ron, and I moved to Iowa City from the Madison, Wisconsin area with our two sons and dog. Our older son, Sam, is a sophomore at Iowa State University. Ryan is our younger son, and is a senior at City High School. Holly is our Golden Retriever.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, distance running, and reading.
My dream job would involve reading, and sampling chocolates. It’s such a luxury to get lost in a good book! And, who doesn’t like chocolate? ; )
The most fascinating place that I have visited is the small country of Macedonia (in Southeast Europe). My parents are natives and immigrated to the United States as very young adults. My siblings and I had the privilege of accompanying our parents on their first return trip to their homeland in 2010.
My favorite meal would have to include pasta.
The Chicago Cubs are my favorite sports team.
One of my favorite books is “A Man Called Ove,” by Fredrik Backman.
If I had 3 wishes: 1) I would want to live near my extended family members. 2) I would be able to travel by teleporting (read one too many Harry Potter books). 3) I wish that every child in this world would be made to feel that they are the center of someone’s world.
