Meet Rick Bonar, Fellowship Program Coordinator for the Department of Pediatrics, and for the Division of Critical Care specifically. This is my first position at UI Health Care. I been here for 3 months. I worked 17 years at the College of Public Health and The State Hygienic Laboratory.
I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. 9 nieces and Nephews ages 5 – 34 and 5 Great Nieces and Nephews. If I had three wishes, they would be for 1) More time to spend with family 2) That my nieces and nephews are living their best life. 3) World filled with music and happiness. And Star Wars :-).
In my free time I love gardening, singing with a choir, community theater, attending Hawkeye games, riding horses, and getting together with a great group of friends. I always wanted to train horses professionally. My favorite restaurant is Cafe Dodici in Washington.
The most fascinating place I’ve visited would be Austria or Germany. Love all of the history you feel walking down their streets.
I’m not a huge Pro Sports Team fan but I am Huge Iowa Hawkeye fan who follows all of the teams.
I’m trying to teach myself how to sew. Definitely not proficient but it has been interesting learning process.
I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone that I’ve interacted with and look forward to getting to know others.
