Education/ Background:

• Interdepartmental Studies: Health Coach Emphasis, University of Iowa, December 2010
• Master of Science in Nursing: Clinical Nurse Leader, University of Iowa, July 2012

Responsibilities:

• Quality and Safety Liaison for all Ambulatory areas (Clinics, Quick Cares, Urgent Cares, Outreach areas), and Intensive Care Units (ICUs)
• Provide all levels of management, physicians, and clinical staff with accurate and timely information and data for effective decision-making
• Review and finalize data reports
• Investigate and resolve daily safety issues brought to the attention of the Quality Improvement Program
• Provide education to management and staff on patient safety, performance measurements, and performance improvement projects related to the hospital and their specific areas
• Maintain effective working relationship with faculty, staff, students, and the public
• Optimization and facilitation of the Safety Oversight Team (SOT) and subsequent formulation of small workgroups for specific process improvement initiatives
• Program representative in meetings involving hospital policy issues surrounding safety events and utilization of hospital resources
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and facilitate RCA Team Meetings
• Prepare and present internal and external education programs on safety
• Provide consultation with University Administration and healthcare facilities throughout the state on issues of safety and quality improvement
• Project management and oversight, utilizing PDSA and LEAN Principles
• Conduct annual Critical Access Hospital (CAH) reviews, as warranted
