Responsibilities:
- Quality and Safety Liaison for all Ambulatory areas (Clinics, Quick Cares, Urgent Cares, Outreach areas), and Intensive Care Units (ICUs)
- Provide all levels of management, physicians, and clinical staff with accurate and timely information and data for effective decision-making
- Review and finalize data reports
- Investigate and resolve daily safety issues brought to the attention of the Quality Improvement Program
- Provide education to management and staff on patient safety, performance measurements, and performance improvement projects related to the hospital and their specific areas
- Maintain effective working relationship with faculty, staff, students, and the public
- Optimization and facilitation of the Safety Oversight Team (SOT) and subsequent formulation of small workgroups for specific process improvement initiatives
- Program representative in meetings involving hospital policy issues surrounding safety events and utilization of hospital resources
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and facilitate RCA Team Meetings
- Prepare and present internal and external education programs on safety
- Provide consultation with University Administration and healthcare facilities throughout the state on issues of safety and quality improvement
- Project management and oversight, utilizing PDSA and LEAN Principles
- Conduct annual Critical Access Hospital (CAH) reviews, as warranted
