Interpret for French, Lingala, Swahili for families during medical appointments and hospital stays. Translate documents as needed.

When asked, “What inspires you?”:

“I worked in geriatric psych for a long time. Being an immigrant myself, I knew from the get-go that spoken language was something important. For those who lack that ability are at a big disadvantage. At the unit in the geriatric psych, we had an immigrant patient whose background showed a very educated person, but he did not know English. I saw his pain, his struggle, his hopelessness, and at some point, his anger. That one case among so many inspired me to help in any way possible, by using the gift of languages I Know: French, Lingala, and Swahili.”
