Behavioral Health Chaplain

Responsibilities:

Providing spiritual care to patients and families in UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital. This includes daily visits, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, educating about spiritual care through publications or orientations for new staff, and developing resources and opportunities for patients, families and staff to better manage their stress.

Education/Background:

• MDiv from Meadville Theological School,
• MFA from University of Iowa Writers Workshop
• Professional Memberships: Healthcare Chaplaincy, Unitarian Universalist Ministerial Association

Special Interests and Activities:

I love exploring ways to utilize the arts in patient care, staff well-being, and service work in the community. I have an MFA in Creative Writing and have facilitated writing groups in the community and the hospital.
