Carver Trust Funding Opportunities Announced

Logo: Carver Charitable TrustThe University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine announces internal funding opportunities for Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust Medical Research Initiative Grants and Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust Collaborative Pilot Grants.  Applications for each will be accepted through Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 6:00 pm.

To be eligible for funding, principal investigators must be a faculty member in the Carver College of Medicine (CCOM) or College of Public Health (COPH) in the clinical, tenure or research track.  Co-investigators need not be faculty nor from the CCOM or COPH.

Proposals will be submitted via the UI Research Information System (UIRIS) Internal Funding System.  Basic questions regarding UIRIS access can be directed to departmental administrators.

Carver Trust Medical Initiative Grants

  • Funding for novel research ideas to gather preliminary data before submitting an external proposal.
  • Budgets up to $30,000
  • Deadline: December 1, 2009 at 6:00 pm

Carver Trust Collaborative Pilot Grants

  • Seed funding for novel pilot collaborative research to allow principal investigators to gather preliminary data to support an external grant submission.
  • Budgets up to $50,000
  • Deadline: December 1, 2009 at 6:00 pm
