This year, the pediatrics residency program is participating in a Food Drive organized by one of our PL-2s, Christina Kim! We are competing against the Family Medicine and Ob/Gyn residency programs to see who can get the most donations. The donations will be going to CommUnity, an incredible group that provides crisis resources in addition to operating a local food bank and mobile food pantry. For more info on them, please check out the CommUnity website.
Faculty/staff participation is voluntary, but very welcome and appreciated. Below you will find a list of their most needed items, but of course, donations are not restricted to these items. They will even take open bottles of detergent or shampoo, etc as long as they are at least half full.
- Canned fruit in juice
- Peanut butter
- Canned meat
- Baby diapers
- Baby formula
- Rice and pasta
- Canned soups/stews
- Toilet Paper
- Laundry detergent
- Financial donations
The food drive will end on December 6th.
You can drop off your donations
- in Dr. Amy Stier’s office in 2030 BT.
- the Chief’s office in E 201 GH.
- or can give them to any resident and ask to have them placed in the resident lounge at your convenience.
- For cash donations, you can donate via the website above or can give them to Dr. Stier or the Chiefs.
Thank you! Kaitlin Stein and Emily Hvidston, Pediatric Chief Residents 2019-2020, University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital
