Biochemistry Student a NASA (Iowa Space Grant Consortium) Scholarship Winner

Kyle Strouse, an undergraduate student advised by Dr. Daniel Weeks, has been selected as a NASA scholarship winner at the University of Iowa from the Iowa Space Grant Consortium. The scholarship supports students studying science, engineering, technology, and other subjects that contribute to NASA’s mission.

Rubenstein and Weeks selected as Directors in new curriculum

Professor Peter Rubenstein has been named Co-Director of the Mechanisms of Health and Disease Strand of the new Carver College of Medicine Curriculum set to be introduced in Fall, 2014 with George Bergus, MD. As Director, Dr. Rubenstein will oversee the parts of the Curriculum Renewal Project, including the sequencing of concepts and integration of basic science and clinical content. The new Curriculum will also incorporate a Keystone Course at the conclusion of the Third and final pre-clinical semester.  Professor Dan Weeks and Jason Barker, MD were chosen to develop this course.  They assume these positions on January 1.
