Welcoming New CCOM Dean to Biochemistry

New Carver College of Medicine Dean, Debra A. Schwinn joined the faculty as a primary appointee in Anesthesia and a secondary appointee in Biochemistry and Pharmacology. Dean Schwinn most recently served as professor and chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, the Allan J. Treuer Endowed Professor of Anesthesiology, and adjunct professor of pharmacology and genome sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle.  She is a nationally known investigator in the function of α1 adrenergic receptor.  Dr. Schwinn received her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine, completed her residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. At Duke, she completed a clinical fellowship and a research fellowship with Nobel Prize winner Robert Lefkowitz. We are very excited to welcome her to our faculty.
